My flight home has been re-booked for Saturday April 24. The real slap in the face is the fact that FAU will penalize me for the 4 days this week when I will not be in the office - 32 hours of leave that I do not have. What is not working...

It's Saturday evening and I'm looking forward to our Gala Dinner tonight at a casino. That report will be in later. For now here are the items that are not working for me, aside from the fact that the plane flight on Monday will probably not work.

My HTC phone will not work in Germany & now I do not even have some graphics,but the screen is black. Nothing.

Cannot get to contacts anyway bec. contacts stored on phone's server/host not in phone & phone doesn't work in Germany

Wireless mouse is not working so I'm learning more about the touch pad, forced to, really.

Cannot get to Lufthansa to even check on flight because I did not make the reservation so do not have the credit card. And cannot click on links because I cannot access that email. Grrr!!

Purchased a pay as you go phone with 15 Euros paid in, but phone directions are in German - wonder why that is? - so will have to find a friendly German M who can translate for me and/or change language to English.

Icelandic Ash

Since it looks like I will be wondering how to get home for a while, I could use the time to be productive. Then there will be a record of the last few days & the next few days so I can remember and/or others will know what I was thinking. Not that the thoughts are that earthshaking or should I say ash cloud shaking.

Isn't Mother Nature a constant surprise? all our technology brought to a quiet halt because she decides we need a reminder of her power.

Trip to Sweden

We leave on the 8th in the afternoon. Labor Day we spend packing, etc. This trip we have very little time to do anything touristy. We arrive around 6pm Wednesday in Göteburg, just in time to get settled. My meetings begin Thursday afternoon. So that morning just about the only time we have to get to see anything in the city. I hope the ferry to Denmark works out.

When is a gift not a gift?

When you accept a $300 voucher for airline travel but you find out when you get to the other carrier that your orig. carrier did not follow through. Your new flight is totally booked. Now you must change terminals, go through security again, & wait 3 hrs. for a new flight. Will we think of this experience the next time we are on the verge of being bumped and are seduced by a $300 promise? You betcha!
